Hello, and welcome to the second week of school! I hope you all had a wonderful first week and that you are ready to have another great week!
Intro- This week we will begin our first assignment, the Black Square Challenge. Everyone should have a sketchbook by Monday 8/14, and we will begin using them first thing on Monday. On Friday 8/18 we will be having our first sketchbook Friday. Details about the specific assignment will be announced in class on Friday morning. Ceramics 3- This week we will be using our brand new Peter Pugger to reclaim all (or most of the clay left over from last year). Your artist research paper and two page sketchbook assignment is due on Monday. You should plan to start working on your project starting next week. AP2D- Your sketchbook "plan" for your 1st piece is due on Monday at the beginning of class. Your completed assignment will be due for critique on Friday, August 25. AP3D- You will spend this week finishing up your concentration idea. If you already know what your concentration will be focused on you need to map out a plan for your first piece in your sketchbook. After the concentration and idea have been approved by me you can start working on your first piece. Sculpture- This week we will be finishing up the hall installation project. When it is completed we will move onto some sculpture terms and then into the first individual assignment for the semester. Ceramics- This week we will continue to learn the basics of clay. We will go over some terms and have a few days of experimenting with clay, tools and underglaze.
