Week of October 31! It is hard to believe that it is the end of October, and that this week marks 12 weeks of school! The time sure is flying and the Thanksgiving break will be here in no time!
Intro- Monday-Friday will be spent working on your serial plane project. You should pay special attention to cutting your edges smooth, and if needed you may sand the edges. You should have completed your maquette last week, but if not it should be done by Monday. This project is due on Wed. November 11. That gives you plenty of time to work during class, but if you need more time you will need to take the project home. Ceramics 3- You will be working on your individual projects. You should be thinking ahead to out group critique of all bisque/glazed fired work that is scheduled for November 17. Also thinking ahead to the end of the semester, you will need a completed platter and plate as the final grade in this class before the actual final. These should be a set, but how you make them will be up to you. AP2D- Piece #5 is due on Thursday, November 2. The sketchbook for the next piece will be due on Tuesday, November 7. Remember to use your sketchbook as an opportunity for discovery and experimentation. You should be taking a risk through research or experimenting of some sort in your sketchbook! Looking ahead to the end of the semester, you have a PowerPoint presentation due on 12/14/17 (Thursday) of all of your work to date photographed. You should put all the work into a "Range of Approaches" section or a "Sustained Investigation". The photos should be photos you would use in the portfolio and should NOT be snapshots. AP3D- Working on breadth or concentration. We will be having a group critique of your work on the Friday before Thanksgiving break (11/17/17). Whatever you have finished or in progress will be discussed. Looking ahead to the end of the semester, you have a PowerPoint presentation due of all of your work to date photographed. These are due to be completed by Friday at the end of class. Ceramics- This week we will finish up the ceramic pumpkin and face jugs. Have a happy week!! It looks like they will be fired and ready to take home just after Halloween. So proud of you all for getting them done, but I didn't want to fire them too soon and have them explode since they were not dry. Next we will work on a slab built small cup and then by the end of the week or the beginning of next week I will introduce the final project for the semester. Just an FYI that next Sunday is the time change so next weekend will be 1 hour longer!! Have a super week!
