It is hard to believe that we are on the cusp of the Thanksgiving break. Although this might feel like a "fun" week, although all weeks are fun, we have a lot of work due this week and several critiques!
Intro- Your serial plane project is due on Wednesday 11/15 at the end of class. This is an absolute deadline as we are having a major critique on Thursday 11/16 where we will discuss the process of making 3D work. We will have Sketchbook Friday on Friday, and the topic/idea will be introduced on Friday morning during class. Ceramics 3- You will be working on your individual projects. On Friday, November 17 we will have a group critique over all of your completed work from the semester. If you have taken anything home over the semester you should plan to bring it in that day to be discussed. Also thinking ahead to the end of the semester, you will need a completed platter and plate as the final grade in this class before the actual final. These should be a set, but how you make them will be up to you. AP2D- Your next piece is due at the end of class on Thursday, November 16. During class Friday we will be using different media to create experimental art. Looking ahead to the end of the semester, you have a PowerPoint presentation due on 12/14/17 (Thursday) of all of your work to date photographed. You should put all the work into a "Range of Approaches" section or a "Sustained Investigation". You will also include the statement you should be working on throughout the year (it will not be finished, but should be a working version). The photos should be photos you would use in the portfolio and should NOT be snapshots. AP3D- Working on breadth or concentration. We will be having a group critique of your work on the Friday 11/17. Whatever you have finished or in progress will be discussed. Looking ahead to the end of the semester, you have a PowerPoint presentation due of all of your work to date photographed. Sculpture- This week you should be wrapping up your installation piece so we can install them for a class period or day when we get back from the Thanksgiving break. Ceramics- This week through the end of the semester you will work on your compound word project. There are a lot of details that go into this project, and you can find all of the requirements on the white board in class. If you have specific questions about the firing schedule or about something specific that is due you should communicate with me. I hope everyone has a great week, but also a wonderful break!!
